Where do these patient case studies come from?

The gallery brings together our published Edinburgh archive and shared Harley Street cases. The source is stated on each card. Andy’s crown surgery took place in Livingston; we do not assign a treatment location to cases where it is not recorded.

How long does it take to see a hair transplant result?

Hair growth changes over several months. The date of each later photograph is shown where it was recorded with the case study.

What should I expect immediately after a hair transplant?

The recipient area usually shows small graft sites and redness. The clinic provides aftercare instructions for washing, sleeping and protecting the grafts.

Why can transplanted hairs shed after surgery?

Some transplanted hairs may shed during the early recovery period. New growth develops later from the transplanted follicles.

Will my result look the same as a case study?

No. Donor hair, hair calibre, the pattern of loss and healing differ between patients. The photographs are examples, not a guarantee of an individual result.

What should I look for in a hairline result?

Look at the height and shape of the hairline, the softness of the leading edge, the direction of the grafts and the blend with existing hair.

How many grafts will I need?

The number depends on the treatment area, the density required and the donor hair available. A clinician must assess this for each patient.

Can women have a hair transplant?

Some women may be suitable, but the cause and pattern of hair loss must be assessed before surgery is discussed.
